Seeker

Essentials qualities of a seeker:
A healthy mind and a keen intellect are the pre-requisites for Reflection & Meditation in the path of Vedanta.
Gaining firm control over the emotions of the mind through intellectual conviction and application of thus regulated and controlled energy for the purpose of higher contemplation and immersion of mind into boundless realms of bliss are qualities of true seeker.
Committing ones self to a process of deep study, reflection on truths as declared by scriptures and tireless meditation are absolute essentials.
Contentment, surrender of ego, peaceful predisposition are qualities to be acquired.
Those in the path of Knowledge should seek steady concentration. Concentration improves as a person indulges in selfless actions along with spiritual practises like Japa etc. A finer Antahkarana (combination of Mind, Intellect, Memories and ego. Mano buddhi chittah ahamkaraha) is the instrument through which higher truths can be grasped and progress is possible in spiritual path.

May Lord and our lineage of Gurus bless us in acquiring these qualities of a true seeker.

Spiritual Evolution:
Our spiritual evolution can be traced as Animal-man, Man-man, God-man.

Animal-man:
A person who acts on his instincts and is caged by his emotions is essentially still at the level of an animal. Fight or flight instincts are commonly seen just like those in animals.

Man-man:
When a person disciplines his animistic instincts. Purifies self through Japa-Tapa, Daana-Dharma, study of scriptures he evolves into Man-man.

God-man:
When high level of Antahkarana Shuddhi happens and person gains discrimination between Spirit and Matter. When the person is able to see the same self within himself and all around him and is established steadfastly in that experience of oneness then the evolution into God-man happens.

Choice is ours now, we have the right set of equipment, we are no longer bogged by the basic necessities of life. We have been bestowed by intellect to discriminate between real and unreal. All we need to do is plunge ourselves with the enthusiasm and innocence of a child in the path of knowledge. Reflect on the truth expounded by scriptures and start experiencing them internally.

Shabda pramana (knowledge passed through generations by the scriptures) - Paroksha/Anumana Pramana(through inference from lives of masters/gurus)- Pratyaksha Pramana (self experience) is my journey into inner realms of myself.

This journey starts by first distinguishing between what is mine from what I am i.e Me. This is possible only through refining my intellect through meditation, indulging in a selfless act, which in my case would be healing anyone who asks for through Reiki.
